Life

James Edward Pipkin, Jim, was born in Middlesex, grew up in Devon and studied at Bideford School of Art, 1960-64

Having met his wife Pam whilst working together at the Medical Research Council in Hampstead in 1970, they moved to Palmers Green in North London. From the 1990s Jim was a full-time artist, until his death in 2023.

At his final workplace, Gaunson Creative Studios (previously Euroart studios), Tottenham, Jim produced around 5 finished pieces of artwork per year.
